Not sure what the best sunscreen for you is? Let us help!
Sometimes it can be difficult to know exactly which sunscreen is ideal for providing protection for a day at the beach, or ensuring the safety of your infant or toddler’s precious skin. Luckily, we’ve got you covered. We’ve got a number of expert articles designed to help you choose the ideal solutions for all of your sun care needs. Below is a snapshot of several articles to inform you on all your sunscreen needs.
What does SPF mean?
Sun protection factor, often abbreviated as
SPF, is used to measure the length of time you can be exposed to the sun’s rays without being sunburnt. For example, a SPF30 will offer 30x your usual exposure time, so if you’re prone to being burnt after 5 minutes of exposure, you should now be able to sustain 150 minutes of exposure without being burnt.
How often should you re-apply sunscreen?
There is no exact science which determines how long you can spend in the sun and be protected. No sunscreen can truly offer day long sun protection, so to prevent your skin burning we recommend topping up your sunscreen on a 2-hourly basis, and after taking a dip in the sea (even if the sunscreen is water resistant)
Which SPF is right for me?
Choosing the SPF of a sunscreen depends on your skin type. Those with light skin (type 1 or 2) are more prone to sunburn, so the best sunscreen for them is SPF50. For people with darker or olive skin, the best sunscreen may be SPF30, which will offer protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays, while also allowing for a tan to develop.
Instead of worrying about the sun’s harmful UV rays and the discomfort of sunburns, let us help you choose the ideal sun product for your skin, so you can focus on relaxing and enjoying the warmth instead.
