1. By participating in the competition and named initiative (NIVEA Co-Lab Challenge), the participant accepts these terms and conditions.
2. The organizer of this competition is Beiersdorf AG, Unnastraße 48, 20253 Hamburg.
3. The competition term runs from 27/07/2018 until 03/10/2018 (inclusive of this date). The final date of submission is 03/10/2018.
4. Entry is limited to one entry per person.
5. Entry is via creative concept upload and entry submission form completion at
www.nivea.co.uk/nivea-co-lab only.
6. Participants must be 16 years or older and must be a permanent resident of either of the Republic of Korea, Brazil or Great Britain.
7. Participants must be in possession of a valid passport and be available to travel to Hamburg, Germany from 23/10/2018 until 25/10/2018.
8. Finalists are responsible for getting the necessary travel documents i.e. but not limited to visa. In case it is necessary for the participant to get an invitation letter from Beiersdorf AG, please get in contact with digitalmarketing@beiersdorf.com and we will send you such letter as soon as possible.
9. Employees of Beiersdorf AG and Cheil Worldwide Inc. as well as their relatives are excluded from participating in the competition.
10. The entries shall cover powerful ideas that bring people together.Technology creates a barrier to genuine engagement with others, how can Beiersdorf AG turn this around and use technology to connect people and enhance relationships in more meaningful ways? Come up with a strong, creative and tech-filled idea to resolve this problem and share it with Beiersdorf AG via a short video (30 seconds maximum) and/or a short Powerpoint or Keynote presentation with a maximum size of 25MB showing/describing your idea irrespective of whether it is an app, a microsite, social media, an experience, a service, wearables or a piece of technology no one has ever seen before. www.nivea.co.uk/nivea-co-lab. All entries and presentations must be in writing and presented in English.
11. Only entries submitted during the competition term are eligible to win. With submitting an entry, each participant affirms that he/she holds all rights and title into the entry submitted and that no third party holds any rights into the entry. Two finalists will be shortlisted from each participating country (Republic of Korea, Brazil and Great Britain).
12. The judging panel to select the finalists per country will consist of up to three people from the local Beiersdorf and Cheil offices in Korea, Brazil and Great Britain. In case a member of the judging panel is unavailable, the member will be replaced by a new person that is at least as qualified as the unavailable member.
13. The judging panel to select the winning concepts per country, in Hamburg will consist of 5 people, namely Mr. Martin Böhm, Mr. Matt Marlow (Beiersdorf AG), Mr Russell Schaller (Cheil UK), Mr David Coombs (Cheil UK), Mr Peter Zillig (Cheil UK) In case a member of the judging panel is unavailable, the member will be replaced by a new person that is at least as qualified as the unavailable member.
14. All finalists will be notified by email. The finalists must accept the nomination by email within 2 days, otherwise the claim to the nomination expires and another candidate will be contacted. With accepting the nomination, all finalists grant the exclusive, unlimited as to territory, time and scope rights to use in their entry to Beiersdorf AG including especially but not limited to the right for Beiersdorf AG to grant licenses to third parties, the right to adaption and publication on each entry. The grant of rights will be subject to a separate agreement that will be closed as soon as the finalists have accepted their nomination .
15. Finalists will be offered a 4 hour mentoring session from the company Cheil Worldwide Inc. to optimize their entries and presentation skills. Finalists will be invited to their local Cheil Worldwide Inc. office in either Republic of Korea, Brazil or Great Britain between 10/10/2018 to 12/10/2018, prior to travel to Hamburg. Details such as to place, date and time will be available within the finalist notification email.
16. Final presentations must be presented in Hamburg, Germany on 24/10/2018.
17. The Judging panel will award one winner per participating country (Republic of Korea, Brazil and Great Britain) in Hamburg on 24/10/2018.
18. The names of the finalists and the winners will be referenced and published in pseudonymized form (i.e. Anna K. From London) on social media platforms (e.g. but not limited to Instagram and Facebook) and websites of all participating communities in this competition as well as on Beiersdorf internal and consumer facing platforms.
19. The prize consists of £10,000 winning concept and the opportunity to work with Beiersdorf AG and Cheil Worldwide Inc. to bring each winning concept to life. Exact details to be confirmed.
20. Travel and accommodation for the final pitch presentation in Hamburg on 24/10/2018 will be organized by Beiersdorf AG and Beiersdorf AG shall bear the costs related to the travel and accommodation. Finalists have to bear all other costs, e.g. but not limited to subsistence costs (food and drinks).
21. The prize is not transferable, cannot be exchanged and – as far as the opportunity to work with Beiersdorf AG and Cheil Worldwide Inc. is concerned – cannot be paid in cash.
22. The Beiersdorf AG is entitled to undergo changes to the prize. In this case the winners will receive an appropriate replacement prize.
23. The legal process is excluded.
24. The participation through sweepstakes clubs, automatized services and other service providers is not allowed.
25. The Beiersdorf AG reserves the right to exclude participants from the competition on the basis of suspicion of manipulation. If this is in reference to an already declared winner, the prize can be retroactively denied; an already delivered/granted prize can be demanded to be returned.
26. All personal data pertaining to the participants will be processed throughout the period of the competition and deleted after full completion of the competition, unless any statutory retention or limitation periods apply.
